Nursing Department

Lapeer County Medical Care Facility is the only county owned facility in Lapeer County licensed as a Skilled Nursing Facility. Nursing care is provided by a team of Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, and Certified Nursing Assistants on every shift

Registered Nurses

The Registered Nurses assess, monitor, document and obtain physician orders per resident needs.

Licensed Practical Nurses

Licensed Practical Nurses pass medications perform necessary treatments and document ongoing resident care

Certified Nurses Aides

Certified Nursing Assistants provide the direct daily care for the residents in accord with their established needs

The facility trains its own Certified Nursing Assistants in its State approved training class. Ongoing inservice training is provided through several different media to maintain all the staffs level of competence.
