Master Garden at Lapeer County Medical Care Facility

The Master Gardener Program is sponsored by Michigan State University Extension and carries on a tradition of agricultural and home economics education that spans over a century. The specific aim of this program is to increase people’s appreciation for the use of plants and provide them with instruction on growing plants using environmentally sound practices. Through this program sponsored by the M.S.U. Cooperative Extension community members tend to the garden which is wheelchair accessible.

While they learn about various gardening techniques our residents and visitors have access to the fruits of their labor, a garden with a variety of flowers and a tea room with bricks 100 years old from the downtown Lapeer area. This garden is under continuous improvement, bricks may be purchased for the garden walkway in remembrance of a loved one or just because, each brick can have up to 3 lines engraved 13 characters per line for a minimum donation of $50.00.
