Restorative Therapy
Restorative Therapy Department strives to maintain functional levels of performance for activities of daily living, to prevent complications associated with inactivity and to provide, as part of the interdisciplinary team, maximum health care services. Services are provided as prescribed by the physician. Restorative Therapy works with skilled services to increase mobility and independence for the residents. Of our 202 residents, Restorative Therapy performs specific modalities for approximately 50% of the population, which includes: Range Of Motion, upper extremity equipment, specialized exercise, Hot Moist Packs, and ambulation of residents who require extra assistance. Skilled Therapy
The goals of our Physical Therapy Department are to prevent disability; relieve pain; develop, improve or restore motor function; and to maintain maximum performance within the resident’s abilities. Services include but are not limited to therapeutic exercise programs for Strengthening and flexibility; therapeutic activities for safety, improving transfer skills, fall prevention; neuromuscular re-education for balance, proprioception, kinesthehc; gait training and pain modalities. Our Registered Physical Therapist assesses residents and sets up a therapeutic program consistent with individual needs. Physical Therapist Assistants are also on hand to help with treatment implementation and provide one-on-one care.
Occupational Therapy
Occupational Therapy is the use of purposeful activity with individuals who are limited by physical injury or illness, psychosocial dysfunction, or aging process. The primary goal of occupational therapy is to enable an individual to function as independently as possible in all activities of daily living. Specific occupational therapy services include teaching activities of daily living skills, using exercises to enhance functional performance, using prescribed adaptive equipment and orthotic devices.
Speech Therapy
Speech Therapy services are provided at this facility by a Speech-Language Pathologist. The focus of speech therapy is the diagnosis and remediation of communication and swallowing disorders. The goals of communication therapy are to improve speech, language, or cognitive skills to better enable a person to effectively interact with his or her environment. The goals of swallowing therapy are to improve oral motor skills for better oral manipulation of solids and liquids. The Speech Therapy also assists the facility in appropriate diet consistency.
